At East Village Arts of Birmingham, we have a mission to create a vital and safe cultural cross roads for community artists and friends to gather and create. Our vision is to support emerging and established local and traveling artists, poets, and musicians in a diversity of genres with a venue that is accessible, efficient, and affordable.
We host a variety of events and activities from artist showcases, exhibitions and workshops, concerts, rehearsals and low-cost music lessons, poetry and spoken words performances, as well as making affordable or free space available.
We seek to work with local organizations to strengthen ties between artists, the diverse music scenes of our city, and the wider community. We envision our presence as a collective, anchoring an "East Village" in Birmingham, Alabama and spearheading a safe setting for cooperative neighborhood rehabilitation and improvement.
